Last summer, Mia and her family held an accidental Labor Day party, because when they talked about the sprinkle that dad had promised to Teddy, dad thought it’s a good idea to invite some friends to have a barbecue. About twenty people showed up at this barbecue party, including Henry, Willow, their baby, Adam, and Kim. With the tasty food and sprinkler, they had an unforgettable afternoon.
When most people left to see firework display or band play, Adam, Kim, Henry, and Willow stayed. Then dad brought out his snare drum, Henry and Adam brought out their guitars. Seeing them were jamming together and singing together, Mia thought: this is what happiness feels like. Later, dad and Adam brought Mia’s cello out. They wanted Mia to play with them, but she’s not willing to do it. Everyone started to encouraged her, though Mia wanted to say no, she couldn't reject those peering which told her it’s really mattered. Therefore, Mia played with those instruments, and it’s amazing.
7:16 A.M. Mia was tired; the reason that she’s delaying the inevitable is Adam. Waiting for him was the least she can do for him. Now Adam’s back, with puffy and pink lids, he spoke to Mia to beg her stay, because he couldn't image her life ends here. He promised he’ll do everything she want if she stay, even if disappear from her life. Then Adam played Yo-Yo Ma’s Andante con moto e poco rubato, and took her hand. As the music playing, a lot of memories of Mia’s life imploded her. She felt painful and how agonizing would be. But then she “felt” Adam’s hand, and she’s lying on the hospital bed, with her own body. All things came back at a moment and it’s too much. Mia thought her chest are going to wide-open, the only thing she could do was grasping Adam’s hand. Adam soon held her hand back and called her name. That’s the first time Mia could truly hear today.
